Hotels Barnet

The Hide London

230 Hendon Way, London NW4 3NE, UK – 020 8203 1670

Good modern hotel in a good location. Very close to the underground. Friendly staff and good breakfast. The room was spacious and the bathroom comfortable. Altogether a very good choice. Only negative is the lack of enough parking spaces for all tenants. Better book a parking space in advance.

Small hotel but very clean and convenient for our business in London. Amenities were a nice surprise, such as the mini bar drinks (non alcoholic) being complementary. Staff were very friendly and helpful in all aspects. Room was fair size and the bed was very comfortable. The chocolate in the room and l'occitane products for the bathroom were also very nice.

Hendon Hall Hotel

Ashley Ln, London NW4 1HF, UK – 0845 072 7448

Hotel looks quite grand and there are some very nice details in the rooms. It feels old, in a good way. The rooms could have been cleaned and dusted better. The bar was not stocked particularly well. However, for the price I'd say it was overall positive and I would stay here again.

We have stayed several times before and just love the hotel, the staff are so lovely always helpful and friendly so we were very sad to learn it is closing in October. We did feel the wonderful breakfasts have already gone and were just average which was a disappointment. But understandable as is closing. Barry a new member of staff was just so kind and helpful I have to mention him as he couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Also the lady in the dinning room whose been there for thirteen years, difficult name! She was very welcoming and we were sad to say goodbye to her.

Holiday Inn London - Brent Cross

Tilling Road, Brent Cross, London NW2 1LP, UK – 0871 942 9112

Great quality hotel that is perfect for trips to the city. I stay at HILBC regularly as I have a large van and the car park is enormous and easy to manoeuvre big vehicles in. They even have an enclosed van park for extra security. The hotel itself is clean and well kept and the rooms are comfortable with good temperature control. The menu is good, with plenty of choice and the food is always well prepared. Staff are excellent and helpful. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel all the facilities you need they have a shuttle service to and from the underground station. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff are really friendly and try make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast is nice and have everything you want so make sure you check it out when you can I would definitely recommend this place. offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. The site is available in 24 languages and offers over 71000 hotels in 71 countries. Could be useful for you. There are of course several such sites.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Barnet Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Old White Lion

121 Great N Rd, London N2 0NW, UK – 020 8883 6459

A nice friendly pub for locals but also for bigger groups. There's a great vibe most days but in the summer especially after work when people go. They have a great range of food and snacks as well a alcohol. It's very large and spaced out. The outdoor area in the back is reasonable big too. The service is good and they also take bookings if you have a big group and come for lunch/dinner although during lunch there's usually always space so you don't need to book in advance.

I love the Lion - it's the friendly local you expect it to be. We frequent this pub fairly often, and the staff and service are top notch. The selection of beers - both craft and not - are second to none. If there is one criticism: The Lion recently changed its menu (and catering team from what I can tell) and while the food is okay, it's certainly not to the same standard as it was over the past year or so. Despite that: give the Lion a visit. It's a great pub with great people.

The Bull

13 North Hill, Highgate, London N6 4AB, UK – 020 8341 0510

Had a really pleasant lunch on a Saturday, scrumptious cooking, good range of ales on tap, with very decent, attentive and friendly service. The manager (I think) was very apologetic as our order was quite delayed (wedding party on first floor), and graciously gave a meaningful discount, which was completely unexpected but every bit appreciated. Such a rarity nowadays, especially in London. Add to list of fave pubs.

Fantastic pub and even better service! The bar didn't have the mixer I requested last night but the barman kindly recommended an alternative, which was lovely. All staff were polite and friendly. Will definitely go back!

The Adam & Eve

The Ridgeway, Mill HIll VIllage, London NW7 1RL, UK – 020 8959 1553

Pretty simple menu but the service was helpful and very quick. Food was good and the venue is very comfortable and welcoming

Food is ok, but service can be slow at times. Quite pleasant area to seat outside, plus a nice exclusive area for parties. It would help if staff managed to be a bit more friendly.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Chumleigh Lodge Hotel

Great place! Cozy, clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful people. The location is also very good, only a 5 minute walk to lots of eating places and stores.

Regal Guest House

170 Golders Green Rd, London NW11 8BB, UK – 020 8455 7025

Lovely hosts. Lovely people. Came and went as we pleased and no problems. Highly recommended. Great location in Golders Green

Nutshell: Cheap, safe location, nearby tube station. Slightly rude owner, dated rooms, broken toilet, no WiFi and most importantly PARKING IS A NIGHTMARE. Be warned! I booked for roughly £60 a night during July. Planned to drive down, park my car and use public transport. Most important thing for me when booking was parking. I was a bit a dissappointed when I arrived, parking is a free for all. You park on the front drive of the hotel and have to block other guests in. Everyday the receptionist knocks at your door to tell you to move your car even though I followed their directions as to which slot to park in. On the day I didn't even block anyone in they still asked me to move my car so that I would block someone else...then asked me to leave my car in in my room in case they needed it! Never got the WiFi password. Toilet seat was broken and when you sat on it, the seat just fell off the toilet. Half used soap bar on sink. No toiletries. Two towels. Otherwise a very good and peaceful location. Easy walking distance from tube stops, close to Brent Cross shopping centre but you would need to take the bus there (due to the flyover and you cannot walk across it) Rooms cleaned daily if you wish Summary: Would stay again if I was depserate last minute, otherwise next time I'll try and find elsewhere with more preparation on my part.

Martel Guest House

27 The Ridgeway, London NW11 8QP, UK – 020 8455 1802

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary. It’s in a nice area located not far from a tube station. Phil is a lovely man and the housekeeper is friendly. The room was clean and homely. I enjoyed my stay and will stay here if I visit London again.

Good place to stay in town. Clean and in a safe area. I will certainly go back there again.
